OH MY GULAY! CULMINATES SCHOOL YEAR WITH HARVEST DAY
Fri, 04/13/2012 - 14:53 — adminThe Oh My Gulay! (OMG!) advocacy program, spearheaded by Senator Edgardo J. Angara, held a Community Day celebration on Wednesday at the Jose Rizal Elementary School in Tondo, Manila.
The event brought together eight different Manila schools adopted under the OMG! program, where vegetable gardens were established and maintained by students and teachers throughout school year 2011-2012.

Angara called on the government to adopt and implement aggressive measures in combatting hunger and reducing malnutrition following the latest Social Weather Station (SWS) survey showing an increase in hunger incidence during the last quarter of 2011.
About 22.5 percent of respondents (about 4.5 million families) said they experienced having nothing to eat, which is slightly higher than the 21.5 percent (about 4.1 million families) recorded in September.
