Vote-rich provinces will deliver votes to Team Unity
Senator Edgardo J. Angara said that Pangasinan, Cebu, and Negros Occidental- the three biggest voting provinces in the country- will deliver big votes to the Team Unity senatorial candidates, as the campaign momentum has been seized by the pro administration senatorial candidates.
Pangasinan, Cebu & Negros Occidental have more than 1 million voters each and six or more congressional district.
Angara based this optimistic assessment on the dominance of pro administration candidates in the three big provinces.
Angara noted there are few competitive local and congressional candidates allied with GO in the three provinces.
"Bulk votes from big provinces such as Pangasinan, Negros Occidental and Cebu will anchor the TU sweep of the senatorial race," said Angara.
Angara said that in the said three big provinces, several local and congressional candidates have been concentrating on getting votes for the TU senatorial candidates because they have no competitors or are facing token competitors. This , he added, " is the same situation in most parts of the country," said Angara.
Allied with the TU candidates are 78 of the 81 provincial governors 90% of city mayors and 90% of municipal executives across the country.
"There is an organized political network and a potent vote delivery system that is working for the TU candidates," said Angara.
Even in urban areas, the voters sentiment has clearly shifted to the side of the pro administration senatorial candidates, said Angara.
He said that recent TU rallies in Metro Manila specifically in Makati City, Malabon, Caloocan City and Quezon City had been attended by enthusiastic crowds.
Angara noted that Quezon City Mayor Feliciano Belmonte is practically without an opposing candidate and so is Malabon Mayor Tito Oreta.
"There is a focused and dedicated effort to support the TU candidates , from the rural areas to the cities," he added.
